Sales order attachment print

Hi

 

Does anyone know if the Quickbooks premier version or any future version will have the ability to print the documents attached to sales orders?

All QuickBooks Desktop versions have the basic functions like viewing and printing documents.

 

The attachments on an item can only be viewed through the Item List or Doc Center page.

Here's how to view the attached document through the said pages:

Item List

  1. Click Lists at the top menu and select Item List.
  2. Double-click the attached document under the ATTACH column.
  3. In the Attachments window, highlight the document and select Open.

Doc Center

  1. Click Company at the top menu and select Documents > Doc Center.
  2. Highlight the document and select Open.

You can't directly view the attachments of an item through the sales orders or other transactions. Hence, you'll need to go to the pages I've mentioned earlier.

 

The attachments that can be viewed on the sales order or other transactions are the ones that were added through Attach File.

  1. Open the sales order.
  2. Click the Attach File and highlight the existing document/file.
  3. Click Open.

Once you've opened the file, you can already start printing it.

It may be a compromise solution for now but ideally the attachment would be enabled to print with the sales order report. 

Perhaps it can be enabled as a print option with the next update?

I'll let our Product Development Team know about your idea. I won't be able to provide a timeline on when it will take effect. However, I'll assure you they'll evaluate and put the idea into consideration for product updates.

 

For now, the things I've mentioned in my earlier response are the workarounds that we can do.

I would like to print my invoices and bills with its attachments

 

At this time in order to do so I save the invoice as PDF file and than add the attachment to it, than I send a multi pages PDF to any address,

 

I would like to do it from QB online invoice print / send button

I'd like to share some steps, yoavmeir.

 

For now, printing an invoice or bill including the attachment is unavailable. However, you can add the attachment to the transaction and email it to your customer. 

 

Here's a sample screenshot where you can include the attachment:

 

 

When your customer received the email of their invoice or bill, they can view the attachment as a PDF. 

 

To see the invoices and bills that has an attachment, you can follow these steps: 

 

  1. Go to Sales > All Sales or Expenses > Expenses.
  2. Filter the transactions you want to view.
  3. Click the Gear icon located above the Action column, and click Show more.
  4. Put a check mark on the Attachments box. You will see a check mark if an invoice has an attachment.
