Join nowIs it possible to change the templates in the drop down of the print menu above invoices? We don't ever use the Shipping Label, but we would love to have a customer Load Slip in there.
Let me help you be able to change your invoice template successfully, randi84.
In QuickBooks Desktop, you can make a default template by selecting the desired template and make sure to select invoice. Also, You can utilize the Layout Designer option to make your own template. But before doing so, you'll need to check the available details that can be included in the template.
Here's how:
I've got you an article for your reference: Use and Customize Form Templates.
In addition, you might encounter some issues when using a customized template. For your reference, check this out on how to fix this: Fix common issues when you use and customize templates.

Thank you for the information, but that's not quite what I'm looking for. We have edited and use our Default Invoice template. That's one we need to keep. We also use the Packing Slip regularly. What I'd like is to be able to get another template option to show under the drop down menu for our another Custom Template (that we use as load slips).
I appreciate you for getting back, Randi. I'm stepping into the thread to share with you some additional information about picking form templates when creating invoices in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

You can't modify the entries on the print drop-down list.
I'm not sure what a "load slip" is, or if it is different than a "packing slip", but you can choose the template the will print when you pick Packing slip from the Print drop down. To so this, go to Edit | Preference | Sales & Customers | Company Preferences and then change the template for the option "Choose template for invoice packing slip"
there is no template selection available in the list menu that I can find.
QuickBooks online. Am I missing something?
- Gear Icon -> All list -> No template selection?
Hi @Sam12324. Thank you for joining the thread.
I can help you find the templates or customized forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
From the List page in QBO, the template is named Custom Form Styles. From there, you can create templates for your sales forms or choose a template to set as default. Please take a look at the snippet below:
Alternatively, you can click the Gear icon and then choose Custom form styles.
In addition, you can reference this article to learn more: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts. This resource has steps and video which elaborates ways to utilize the feature efficiently.
