Track Mileage

I'm Master Admin as I'm the Accountant and I get billed for the subscription on my wholesale account. My client is Company Admin and can't see the Mileage tab on their mobile app? How can he get it?

There are some possible reasons why mileage feature won't show up on mobile phone app, one could be an outdated version of mobile app. You can follow the steps given by my colleage jamespaul to update the QuickBooks Mobile app for andriod and IOS devices. 


To track your mileage using your mobile phone, you’ll have to click the Miles/Mileage from the left menu. This way you can add your trips and use the mileage tracker in mobile app.


To turn on the mileage tracker in QuickBooks Mobile app, here’s how.


  1. Tap Miles.
  2. Click Auto-tracking.
  3. Toggle Auto-tracking on.

I'll provide clarifications regarding the solution, and help you and your client fix the missing Mileage tab. 


An outdated mobile app might have a few missing features, including the Mileage tab. In this case, you'll want to let your client update it. Provide them these steps: 


For Android devices: 


  1. Open Google Play Store
  2. Tap the Menu ☰ icon, then choose My apps & games.
  3. Go to the Updates tab then look for the QuickBooks Online mobile app. 
  4. Tap Update

For iOS devices (iPhone or iPad): 


  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Go to the Today tab, then select your profile.
  3. Head over to the Available updates section, then find the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
  4. Tap Update

You'll also want to ensure your client's phone is updated. This can help fix missing features and other app incompatibility issues as well. 


When they're done updating the mobile app, let them log in to it (make sure they're using the company admin credentials). Provide these steps to let them check for the Mileage tab or feature: 


Option one: 


  • Tap the big + Icon on the bottom center of the screen, then choose Add trip

Option two: 


  • Tap the Menu icon, then choose the ALL tab. After that, scroll down and look for Mileage

When it finally appears, your client can start tracking mileage with the mobile app. Follow the steps provided by Pablito_L on how to turn it on.
