I am setting up our Payroll in QBO (it's going on a month now w/ issue after issue), we have a few employees who live in different states other than our HQ location. I need to be able to enter their YTD payroll info and it is not giving me a line where I can enter their states w/holding, only showing me the HQ state. Now I've read that I need to add work locations, and it also says to contact support to get help setting a new work location. I did that, w/ no help at all from support. The person just kept telling me I'm based in IL so it will only show me IL w/holding and I need to set up a new location. After 15 minutes of that and going back and forth with telling her 10x the reason why I needed her help, I gave up. She copied and pasted what I found myself on here about going to the employee and clicking edit and adding a new location. My issue is that I do not have that option when I click on an employee. 0 option to edit an employee. My question is this, will that be an option once I enter all employees YTD information? To clarify, if I wanted to go in and check what an employees address is, I'm not even able to do that. Any help would be great. Thank you!!
I'm here to lend a hand and point you in the right direction for support with your query.
I understand you've already contacted them before. With that said, the process of entering your employee's YTD payroll data is best handled by our Technical Support team. They can pull up your account in a secure environment, and have the necessary tools needed to complete this process.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I already have all of that information. I just need to know if once I enter all the employees information if the "EDIT" function will appear.
I don't want to be rude, but I've given up on support for Payroll, Accounting, Technical. I've had to contact so many different people during this last month and a half for issues transferring over from desktop to online and no one seems to be able to help me or know what they are doing, and I just get passed back and forth or I'm on the phone for hours on end. I am the sole person in my department and I'm responsible for the book of business as well as payroll for over 60 people. Frankly, I don't have time for this. It's been a disaster from the start. I just want to be able to do my job without having something constantly not work.
Yes, the Edit button will appear once you've entered the employee information. I'll guide you on how to add a work location:
Go to the Employees tab, then select the employee's name.
Click the Edit button or Pencil icon next to Employment.
Click the Work location drop-down arrow, then select New Work Location.
Enter the location address.
Click OK, then Done.
Although, if you're subscribed to Full-Service Payroll. You'll want to reach out to our payroll support so an agent can set up the work location for you. I know you've called in several times already. However, they will check your account and make some changes for you. You can follow Ryan_M's steps on how you can get in touch with us.
