Re: Approve time function is not working in online version.

Hello there, herman2.

Let me point you to the right support that can help you with the approve time feature in TSheets.

If you're having trouble using the approve time function in QuickBooks Online, I recommend calling TSheets Support so they can take a closer look on the issue. They're the experts on how the approve time function works.

You can reach them through this link: TSheets Technical Support.

Keep in touch if you have any other concerns about QuickBooks. I'll be around to help you out.

Re: Approve time function is not working in online version.

i think this is a new bug, possibly related to the "removal" of the upgrade stuff you were pushing to all users.  I have never had to approve time sheets before nor have i activated that function nor do i have Tsheets installed but continue to get an error message and am now unable to enter time entries.

Hi there, LisaAnd.

We are here to help you with any questions you have. Do you mind telling us what the error message exactly is? This is to help us isolate where the issue has started. In the meantime, I'm going to figure out how did you get this error.

Active TSheets account is one of the cause. It automatically connects to your Weekly Timesheet in QBO. If there are unapproved hours in TSheets, you won't be able to enter hours in QBO. Let's go ahead and approve them first. Please see this article for the full details: How to Approve, Unapprove, and Reject Employee Timesheets.

You've mentioned that you don't have activate TSheets account. Do you have any other QBO accounts that has it? If so, let's go ahead and cancel the service. Here's an article for the steps: How to close your TSheets account

To check out more updates, please post more questions. We are here for you.

Re: Approve time function is not working in online version.

I have always just clicked Weekly Timesheet and entered my time (through laptop).  This time when i went to save, i received the messages.  I am using Chrome. I had never heard of TSheets until I saw these messages pop up.  When I click on Apps and My Apps, it doesn't show TSheets so not sure why it is attempting to require that access and approval.  I have also never had to approve any timesheets.  Will attach screenshots.

Re: Approve time function is not working in online version.

I am using Chrome browser on a laptop.  I have never heard of TSheets before the error. For 10 years, I have logged in to QBO and selected Weekly Timesheet and entered my time.  This time, when i pressed Save, I received the pop up messages referenced, wanting me to download something and "Approve time" which i have never had to do previously.  I will attach screenshots.  Thank you.

We appreciate you for providing us the screenshots, LisaAnd.

Let's install the QuickBooks Online Integration Add-On (as stated in the error message) in your TSheets account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Feature Add-ons.
  2. Choose Manage Add-ons.
  3. Find QuickBooks Online Integration.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Click Connect to QuickBooks. The Intuit sign-in page displays.
  6. Sign in and, if you have multiple companies, select the one to which you want to link.
  7. Click Authorize when prompted. Then the "You are now connected" message displays, and the Preferences window opens.

You can check out this article for more details about integrating Tsheets and Quickbooks Online (QBO): How to Integrate TSheets and QBO.

Once done, go back to QBO and access the Approve Time window.

I've got an article for more details about approving time: How to Approve Hours Within QBO.

If the same thing happens, it would be best to contact TSheets Technical Support. They'll further investigate what's causing this issue.

Re: Approve time function is not working in online version.

I don't want an add-on or to have to approve time sheets.   I just want to use the weekly time sheet function that comes out of the box with QuickBooks like I always have.

Re: Approve time function is not working in online version.

Hi LisaAnd,

Have you tried putting a check mark in the Please do not show this again checkbox and clicking on the Close button? If yes and the same thing happens, we'll do the basic browser troubleshooting steps to check if this is caused by a full cache.

To start, you can log in to QuickBooks in a private window. This disables the cache from saving new browsing data. If you won't see the error about TSheets, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If it's still there, please try using other browsers like Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox to isolate the case.

If this will not be resolved with the steps I mentioned, please contact our phone or chat team to check this further. They can request a screen-sharing session to see your setup.

  1. Click on Help and choose Contact us.
  2. Enter short detail of the scenario and click on Let's talk.
  3. Choose from Chat or Get a callback.

You can always drop by if you need anything else.
