Are my reemployment taxes paid by quickbooks

Hello there, @thejunkshark.

We only act as a portal where you can file or pay for your taxes. Also, if you want reactivate your employees, you'll have to manually enter the payroll and file to the IRS.

If you want to Re-activate an employee, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Select Employees.
  2. Set the view to All Employees.
  3. You can then type in the employee's name to find them, or select them from the employee list.
  4. You will redirected to the Employee Profile.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and select Re-activate Employee.
  6. Once activated, the employee will then be eligible for the pay runs.
  7. If the employee has changed employment type (e.g. part time to full time) there are a couple of places in the employee's profile where you will need to make adjustments.

Are my reemployment taxes paid by quickbooks

Hello,

I received a bill from Florida Department of Revenue charging me for a penalty of $25.10 for late filing/payment of the June 2020 Reemployment Tax.  I'm trying to understand why it was paid late, and how should the penalty fee be paid?  Isn't this an automated process?

Are my reemployment taxes paid by quickbooks

Good day to you, @Endon Perkins.

Filing and paying tax payment can be processed through QuickBooks Online (QBO). But, you’ll have to ensure to manually initiate it.

Also, you might want to check if you’re able to E-file and pay your taxes. That way, we can see and check if the payment was processed. Let’s go the Taxes menu and check it from there.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu then select Payroll Taxes.
  2. Select View Tax Payments you have made.
  3. Select or enter the desired date range.
  4. Then select Update Report.
  5. Click the payment date to view the details of the payment.

Here’s an article you can read for more guidelines: See a report of tax payments made.

If you’re able to process your payment, I recommend reaching out to our Support team. There, they can securely check your account and further look into this and verify the reason why you’re being charged for late filing.

To reach out to them in your QBO account, you can follow these steps below:

  1. Go to the (?) Help menu.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter a brief discussion of your concern and click Let’s talk.
  4. Choose either Get a call, Check availability (for scheduled callback) or Start a chat (if you preferred chat).

You might also want to check this article for future reference in entering tax payments for prior tax periods in QBO: Recording prior tax payments.

You can always leave a reply below if you have other concerns or questions about tax payments in your QBO account. I’m more than happy to assist you. Have a great day ahead.
