Can I add multiple trips at once to the mileage portion of QuickBooks self-employed?

Hello mahsmw,

We can add a trip with a lump sum amount of multiple trips if they have the same details. Otherwise, we'll need to enter them one at a time. You can use this link for reference: Manually add trips to track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You might also want to utilize the QuickBooks Self-Employed app for automatic tracking of you trips: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Aside from the automatic and manual tracking, we can also import your trips from MileIQ and Google. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBSE account and select Miles on the left menu.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow next the Add trip button.
  3. Select Import MileIQ trips or Import Google trips.
  4. Follow the import process.

Feel free to drop by again if you have additional questions. Have a great day!

Hi; I have the same question but the link you offered does not show how to enter multiple trips with the same details.  Can you expound on this?   Thanks!

Can I add multiple trips at once to the mileage portion of QuickBooks self-employed?

Let me share some information about adding trips in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), slgiffbot.

My colleague is referring to adding a trip with a lump sum amount of multiple trips (if they have the same details) on the Miles page. This way, there's no need for you to enter the multiple trips per transaction in QBSE.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Miles on the left side menu.
  2. Tick the Add trip button.
  3. Enter the distance in the Add miles field. For multiple trips with the same details, enter the lump sum miles.
  4. Enter the Date.
  5. Tap the Pencil icon to edit the start and end addresses.
  6. Add a Trip purpose note.
  7. Press Save.

For more details about this one, check out this article: Manually add trips to track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If you need to import your trips from MileIQ and Google, just follow the steps provided by  JamesDuanT.

Just in case you turn on the Auto- tracking mileage feature and you encounter into problems tracking your work trips to your mobile devices, refer to these articles to troubleshoot the issue:
