Can I change employee's work location field in payroll?

Hello, vndum10. You can still update the work location of your employees. To change the current work location, we start by modifying their profile.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to update:

1. Navigate to Payroll, and then choose Employees.
2. Select the employee you want to update.
3. In the Employment Details section, click on Start or Edit.
4. In the Work Location dropdown, a default work location will be displayed (typically your company's address). You can either select an existing address or click on +Add work location.
5. If you add a work location, enter the physical address where your employee works and select the appropriate address from the suggestions. Do not use a P.O. Box, as the physical address is required to determine the correct taxes.
6. Once completed, click Save.

To correct the allocation of payroll taxes, you must delete and recreate the paychecks. However, this depends on how the paychecks were initially processed.

• If the paycheck is a paper check and has not been printed yet, you can delete and recreate the paycheck.
• If printed, or the paycheck is a direct deposit, I suggest contacting Payroll Live Support.

Here's how you can reach out within QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBO) Payroll:

1. Log into your QBO account.
2. Navigate to the Help (?) icon located in the upper right corner of the page.
3. Click on the Assistant tab for support from the QB assistant, or go to the Search tab and type in Contact Us to receive help from a specialist.
