Can I correct W2 before printed or filed? Health ins premium and car fringe benefits did not populate in box 14

Thanks for joining us here in the Community, @larryg255.

Yes, you can make corrections on your employees' W-2 before printing or filing it. Just pull it up and affix the changes so the health insurance premium and car fringe benefits will populate in the box 14.

Once done, you can now file the W-2 form. For additional reference, please check these articles:

In case you still need to create some modifications on the form after filing it, you may submit an amendment. Visit this link for more details: Correct or amend W-2 forms.

I put the corrections in additional pay types, but it still is not showing on the W2. Is there a different way or place I need to add health insurance premiums for the year and car fringe benefits for owners?

Hi there, @larryg255.

If, after you try these steps, you still aren't able to access your account, you'll need to clear the cache and cookies of the browser you're using. The reason why we need to clear your history is that the current data saved in your web browser has become outdated. Like any other web-based platforms, QuickBooks collects cache files and cookies to save you time when loading repetitive data and images. Here's an article on how to clear your history

When you're making the corrections, are you inputting the correct date? Having an incorrect date can cause the issue you're having. I recommend trying putting in the corrections in again with the correct date.

After trying what I've suggested, and you still needing assistance, I recommend calling into our Online Support. They'll assist you further in your tax form filing and can see where the error is occurring. Here's how to get in touch:

  1. Sign in your QuickBooks account.
  2. Go to the (?) Help icon, then Contact Us.
  3. Type in your question or concern in the Description Box then hit Let's Talk.
  4. Choose how you want to get contacted.

You'll hear from an Online Support agent in no time! They can look further into your tax forms and help you get those out to your employees.

If you have further questions or concerns, don't hesitate and reach back out. Have a beautiful Monday.
