Re: can I e-file 941 with error unpaid liability

Hello there, @boho_bookkeeper.

QuickBooks Payroll requires all tax payments be made before the corresponding form can be generated or filed. Let me guide you on how to pay tax liabilities.

Here's how to make a tax payment:

  1. From the left menu, click Taxes.
  2. Select Payroll Tax.
  3. Click Pay Taxes.
  4. Choose Federal Taxes (941/944), then click Create payment.
  5. Select E-pay.
  6. Click Done to confirm.

You can check out this article for your reference: Make Payroll Tax Payments.

Once done, you can now e-file your 941 forms to IRS. For your reference, you can read this article for the detailed steps and information: File Quarterly Tax Forms.
