Thanks for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community. While at this time there isn’t a report that shows only employee's names and hire dates, you could run an Employee Details report which has this information. You will have the option to export it to Excel where you could customize with just the data you are wanting. To do that:
On the Reports page scroll down to Payroll.
Select Share ▼ in the upper right.
Choose how you want to print your report.
Export To Excel.
