Can I track project labor costs without employee's or Tsheets?

You can enter a single time activity, @Brandy13.

This way, you'd no longer have to manually enter the time details for each employee per day. Let me walk you through on how to do it.

  1. Go to the + New.
  2. Select Single time activity.
  3. Enter the date the activity occurred in the Date field.
    • You can enter the last day of the week then just add the complete job details.
  4. From the drop-down ▼, select the name of the employee or vendor.
  5. Complete the rest of the fields:3034.GIF
  6. Click Save.

Once completed, you can the Time Activities by Employee detail report. It will display all the recorded time activities for each employee, including their hourly rate and duration.

Can I track project labor costs without employee's or Tsheets?

Thanks for visiting the Community, @Brandy13. You'll need to add employees so you can track project labor costs.

Let me show you how to add them without subscribing to payroll. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Workers or Payroll menu, then click Employees.
  2. Select Add an employee, then enter the employee's information.
  3. Click Save.

Once done, enable the project feature in your account so you can start tracking the project labor cost even without the T-sheets. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Setting menu.
  2. Choose Account and Settings, then go to the Advanced tab.
  3. Select the Pencil icon in the Project section.
  4. Tick the box to Organize all job-related activities in one place.
  5. Hit Save, then Done.

You can now add the project and track the labor costs by calculating the hourly cost rate for each worker. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Projects menu, then select Hourly cost rate to open the hourly cost rate window.
  2. Select Add next to an employee's name, then select the calculator icon to pull up the hourly cost calculator.
  3. Add your worker’s hourly wage and employer taxes (per hour). You can also enter their additional employer taxes, workers’ comp, and overhead.
  4. Select Add and then Save to add their hourly cost rate.
  5. Click Done.

Can I track project labor costs without employee's or Tsheets?

Thank you so much for getting back to me!

Is there a way for us NOT to enter individual employee's names/times and just calculate/enter weekly overall labor cost/enter into QB for tracking purposes?

We aren't tracking individual time/cost/job, just overall weekly cost/job;

For example:  Joe, Ida & David ea worked 8 hrs/d, for 5 days on XX project.  It cost us $27.61/hr for ea person, therefore we have 24 man hrs/day, 120 hrs/for the week @ $27.61/hr.  Our totals cost for the week is $3,313.20.   This is the only cost we want to track under the job for this week, or any week.

Does this make sense?
