Can I undo an archived tax form?

Thanks for reaching out to us regarding this payroll concern, @mthaadf,

I can get you to the right department who can handle billing concerns. When you archive a form in QBO, it will be available for viewing and printing only.

In order to delete it from your account, we recommend that you get in touch with our Support Team. They have the tools to check your account and help you manage your archived forms.

Here's how to contact us:

  1. Go to the (?) Help menu and click on Contact Us.
  2. Type the keyword Payroll Account Management and Billing in the What can we help you with? box.
  3. On the next screen, scroll down to the Choose a way to connect with us section.
  4. Choose Start messaging to initiate a discussion with a live agent or Get a call for callbacks.

When using the messaging option, a small discussion box will open at the bottom right section of your monitor. An agent will be with you after filling in the information. See this:

Reach out to us during our operations hours. You will see it here: Support hours and type.

Let me know how the call goes, as I want to make sure this is taken care of for you. I'm also here if you need further help with anything in QuickBooks. Have a lovely day!

Let's make sure you're able to file your federal forms, Nanci5.

As long as the Delete option is available, you can undo the archived form. Let me show you how:

  1. From the Taxes menu, select Payroll Tax.
  2. Select View Archived Forms in the Quarterly Forms or Annual Forms section, as appropriate.
  3. Choose the desired form.
  4. Select Delete.
  5. It will go back to your filing due.

If not, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Team. They can undo the archived form for you. Here's how to contact them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.

You can also chat with them depending on your plan. Select your product and fill out the form to get in touch with an expert.

Once you have the form, here's how to file it.

Let me know if you need anything else concerning payroll. I'll be around to help you.

Except when you get Customer Support on chat they claim that it's not possible for them to unarchive or delete archived forms.

Can I undo an archived tax form?

Was using this to help myself find archived files and found there is a step missing that some might find helpful.

After clicking on Taxes>PayrollTaxes, then you will need to select one of the sub categories “Payments/Filings”. Select “Filings”. Scroll to the bottom of the screen. Under Filing resources you can find “Archived Forms and Filings”.

Hope that helps someone along the way to get this this section quicker as using the help chat did not pull up anything under the term Archives. Could programers work on this detail to make searching out portions of quickbooks online more efficient for individuals trying to learn the system?

Now that I am in Archived forms myself, I am not finding this as an option either.

The form can be printed for filing however...

Please updated our form to be able to unarchive forms if needed...Screen Shot 2021-09-03 at 11.54.04 AM.png No delete option
