Can't increase my Direct Deposit limit

HELP! - Hi, I am a long time ADP subscriber sold a QB subscription to migrate over to QuickBooks. I decided to take the plunge and go all in.  I subscribe to the following: QuickBooks Advanced, QuickBooks Live Full-Service Bookkeeping, QuickBooks Live Bookkeeping Cleanup, QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Online Payroll Elite. Eye opening experience as I had to do all of the set up myself. NO HELP FROM QB - I only received videos to help me from all customer service reps. I am now a complete payroll expert having to perform year to dates for every employee inclusive but separated overtime, prevailing wage, bonuses etc. etc. complete with all taxes, withholdings as well as child support, 401K etc. for every employee. Nonetheless QB has all of my past information detailing my business.

That said, I have payroll that is above $125k/pay period and for some reason QB set my Direct Deposit limits at $40k? I have no idea why? they have all my info? they are linked to all of my bank accounts? they have all of my year to date employee payroll records? I had no idea I had a direct deposit limit? So I have migrated over and ran my first  payroll only to find out i can't unless I increase my direct deposit limit? They stopped my payroll from going through. My employees didn't get paid and I am a contractor on state and government projects and when you don't pay employees on these projects you will be black listed and never be able to get another contract do to non paying employer. I have been fighting to get my Direct Deposit increased for the last 2 months and I get one "expert" after another, dropped phone calls, more videos sent my way etc. etc. finally got an "expert" to help and only to get the "back end office engineers" who handle risk could help. They sent an email with a link asking for 6 months bank statements. I did- they did not approve it due to lack of minimum balance in the account - that account is a sub account to my main account. it just handles payroll. as a security feature there never is a balance in that account until payroll is ran and when payroll is approved and notified how much payroll liabilities are, that money is immediately transferred into the payroll account to cover payroll. I sent 6 months of my main account and they still declined it even though there is several million dollars in the main account. monthly. I can't get a human on the phone other than "specialists" who blame it on the back end engineering team that no one can talk to and all I can do is submit the 6 months bank statements as asked of me.

In short - QB has no customer service because I am a customer and I am not getting service - they take my subscription money every week but I cannot even run payroll do to THEIR OWN LIMITS that THEY set... not me! this is a last ditch effort in hopes someone from QB who is a responsible employee get with me and understands and raises my Direct Deposit limits otherwise I have no choice but to cancel my subscription, blog about my experience in all contractor/workforce groups, magazines and social media platforms to let the professional public know not to ever subscribe as they will never achieve paying their employees.

Can't increase my Direct Deposit limit

Hi there, @DREC.

This isn't the kind of service we want you to experience. I understand that you just want to get your job done.

Allow me to provide some insights on processing your payroll.

Before you run direct deposit payroll, ensure your bank account has enough amount to avoid a nonsufficient issue. Direct deposits were still made despite the failed debit to your bank account. We've taken care of the funds instead.

To provide you the best resolution, I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team to review your account.

Here's how :

  1. Click Help in the upper-right corner and select Contact Us.
  2. Enter the details of your payroll concern and click Let's talk.
  3. Select how you want to reach them (phone or chat).
  4. Enter the necessary details to complete your request.

I've also included an article that will help you resolve common direct deposit errors and mistakes in QuickBooks: Fix direct deposit issues.

Just in case, I'll add this article for future reference: All Online Payroll - NSF Holds.

Please fill me in if you have any other direct deposit or QuickBooks questions. I'm here to lend a hand. Have a wonderful day!

Can't increase my Direct Deposit limit

See,,, this is the problem with QB. you don't think I've done that? I have over a dozen case numbers regarding this issue and the most recent one is #[removed]

1) my bank account has over 100 times the amount my payroll is

2) there is no "failed" debit from my bank account? why would you even say that? I never said that in my post!

THE PROBLEM IS THAT QUICKBOOKS HAS BY DEFAULT A $40K DIRECT DEPOSIT LIMIT NOT MY BANK!!! I HAVE NO ISSUES WITH MY BANK IT IS QB THAT IS THE ISSUE. YOU HAVE A $40K DIRECT DEOSIT LIMIT AND MY PAYROLL CONTINUOUSLY IS OVER $100K AND AT TIMES EXCEEDS $300K I HAD ADP FOR ALMOST 3 DECADES AND NEVER EVER ONCE HAD AN ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS QUICKBOOKS AND THIS IS A LAST DITCH EFFORT TO CORRECT THIS OTHERWISE I WILL SEEK ALL OF THE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION MONEY QB HAS TAKEN FROM ME AND I WILL BLOG ABOUT ALL OF WHAT MY ISSUES HAVE BEEN TO EVERY OPEN FORUM BUSINESS SOCIAL MEDIA GROUP THATS OUT THERE! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A MONTH AND I HAVE INVESTED IN EXCESS OF OVER 180 HOURS BETWEEN PHONE CALLS AND UPLOADING DOCUMENTS AND SPEAKING TO EVERY "SPECIALIST" QB HAS AND I GET NO WHERE JUST LIKE YOUR RESPONSE FROM MY POST. THIS IS THEFT BY DECEPTION SUBSCRIBING SOMEONE TO A PLATFORM BUT KEEPING THEM FROM USING IT IS WRONG AND IT IS THEFT! GET IT FIXED OR I'M OUT!!!

Can't increase my Direct Deposit limit

Hi Drec,

We are having the same issue and I'm curious if your issue is still unresolved or not.

Our payroll averages $70k and we are stuck on $40k limit.  Never knew of a limit when we joined elite payroll.

Spent hours and hours on phone and chat trying to get help.  Have submitted requests over and over with bank statements and they said the statements were not attached.

We used to be with Paychex system but wanted everything in one place with our invoicing, payroll, etc, so have everything with QB, but now figuring on moving payroll back to Paychex or to ADP.

Good luck to you.

We too have been having the same issue, though our limit is much lower.  Employees are having to get manual checks.  We have submitted all necessary paperwork several times, talked to numerous people who promise a supervisor will call you back but no such luck.  Ready to change all of our payroll companies to a different service.

We too have had the same issues  since September and have not been able to resolve it yet, despite numerous phone calls, uploaded statements, letter of credit from bank.  It is so frustrating to be on the phone with someone that is paid for how long they can keep you on the phone and not by problrem resolution. We are forced to pay employees with manual checks.  We are close to moving all of our payroll companies to another company since we are having this issue and cannot get it resolved.
