I'm here to share some information about the E-filing of Form 1099, jandadisposal.
Intuit will send online and printed copies to your contractors after you e-file. Once you prepare your 1099s, we can e-file them to the IRS for you and deliver online and printed copies directly to your contractors.
Please know that 1099 E-file Service opens on January 1 and the deadline for providing contractors with 1099 copies and submitting paper 1099 forms to the IRS is on January 31. If you’re e-filing with Intuit’s 1099 E-file Service, we recommend that you submit forms by January 30 at the latest so they can be processed by the new IRS due date on January 31.
We'll also have to take note that QuickBooks Online doesn't handle late filings of 1099 forms. You can print and mail the forms to IRS to ensure compliance. You're also required to submit the Form 1096 (the summary) since you're manually mailing the 1099s. Please follow the steps below in printing and mailing the form:
