Hi there, Stucker.
Thanks for getting back to us. Allow me to help and provide some additional information about the check options when creating a regular paycheck.
QuickBooks will determine the last paycheck transactions you've created. When selecting the Print paychecks on check stock option, it will automatically assign a check # for the next paycheck.
Meanwhile, if you want to manually change the Check # for the paychecks you'll need to select the Handwrite & Assign check numbers option.
For additional reference, you can check this article. This will guide you on how to create paychecks in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
You may also contact our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team if you need further assistance with the steps. They have additional tools to pull up your account in a secure environment a do a remote session.
