Changing dates of pay perios

Hi @jaltea-aahmi-gma,

I'll handle your query on how to update your pay periods in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you want to edit the pay period, you must select or enter the correct pay period ending. This option is available when you run payroll in QBO. You'll find a drop-down menu with a Pay period label.

See the screenshot below for a reference:

As for pay schedules, take a look at this article: Set up and manage payroll schedules. It has the steps you need to create, assign, and edit a pay schedule.

I'll be around if you have other concerns. Place a reply below, and I'll take care of it.

Changing dates of pay perios

Thank you

I wanted to change the dates covered. Example, from 11/20/2020-12/20/2020 instead of

11/22/2020 - 12/22/2020

Changing dates of pay perios

I can help share some insights about changing the dates of your pay period, Jaltea.

We're unable to change the dates of your pay schedule. However, we can delete and create a new one, and then assign it to the employee(s).

To create a new schedule:

  1. Go to the Settings icon and select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Payroll and Services section, select Pay Schedules.
  3. Select Create.
  4. Enter the pay period and pay date.
  5. Select OK.
  6.  Click on OK to save.

To assign a pay schedule to an employee:

  1. Go to Payroll and select Employees.
  2. Select the name of the employee.
  3. Click on the pencil icon beside Pay.
  4. Go to the How often do you pay (employee's name) drop-down and choose a pay schedule.
  5. Click on Done.

For more details, please check it here.

Keep me updated on how it goes. I want to make sure you're able to manage your employee's pay periods in QBO. If you have any additional concerns, please tag me in a comment below. Thanks!
