Correct payroll mistake

Last pay period, vacation hours was entered instead of holiday hours.  How do we correct that so employee isn't shorted vacation hours?

Welcome to the Community, @HortonSales.

 

As long as the number of hours for both holiday and vacation are the same, you can go ahead and edit the payroll from the last period. This will not change the employees' net pay.

 

Here's how:

 

1. Go to the Employees menu at the top.
2. Pick Payroll Center in the drop-down.
3. Select the Pay Employees tab, then proceed to the Recent Payrolls section.
4. Locate the previous payroll and click the amount under the Net Pay column to open the Paycheck Detail.
5. Double-click the employee's name, then select the Paycheck Detail tab.
6. Change the Vacation Hours to Holiday Hours.

7. Hit OK and Save & Close.
8. Repeat the steps 5 to 6 for the other employees.

 

Once done, the vacation hours that were accrued will be reinstated.
