Direct Deposit for Veterans day

I processed direct deposit payroll today and forgot that Wednesday is Veterans day. Can I cancel the direct deposit request and pay everyone with checks instead or is it to late to cancel the direct deposit and everyone has to wait till Thursday to get paid.

Direct Deposit for Veterans day

Let me share some information about the Direct Deposit (DD) process, StoreLord.

Weekends and federal holidays are non-banking days. Once your payroll is submitted on a non-banking day, your direct deposit will be drawn from your account the next banking day. You can visit this article for guidance when processing direct deposit payroll: How will Federal banking holidays affect my direct deposit processing?.

You can still void the DD paychecks and it must be done before 5:00 p.m. Pacific time, and two banking days before the paycheck date. Then, write checks for your employee for them to be paid on time. However, once DD transaction has offloaded for ACH processing, Intuit can no longer stop it.

In this case, it would be best to contact our Payroll Support Team to verify the status of the transaction. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and assist you with this one. Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click the Help icon on the top menu.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help
  3. Tap Contact us.
  4. Select Search for something else and enter your concern in the Tell us more about your question: field.
  5. Tap Search
  6. Choose Start a Message or Get Phone Number to connect with our support.
