I'm here to make sure that you're able to update your EDTPS internet password, @jantco.
Let's first make sure to update your QuickBooks software and payroll tax table. This ensures that your QuickBooks displays the latest features and resolve errors and incorrect payroll information.
- Go to the Help menu.
- Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
- Go to the Update Now tab.
- You can select the Reset Update checkbox to clear all previous update downloads.
- Select Get Updates to start the download.
- When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
- Accept the option to install the new release.
Now, let's updates your payroll tax tables. Here's how:
- Go to the Employees menu.
- Choose to Get Payroll Updates.
- Tick the Download Entire Update checkbox.
- Hit Download Latest Update.
- A window appears when the download is complete.
Once completed, let's restart QuickBooks to ensure that all components are updated. Now, you can try updating the EFTPS internet password.
- Go to the Payroll Center.
- Select Pay Liabilities.
- Choose the federal liability to e-pay in the Pay Taxes & Other Liabilities section.
- Click View/Pay.
- Verify the E-Payment is selected, and select E-pay.
- Remove the checkmark in the Remember My Information for the next time box.
- Enter the 4-Digit PIN and new EFTPS Internet Password. You can refer to the following EFTPS password guidelines:
- Have at least one uppercase letter.
- Have at least one lowercase letter.
- Have at least one number.
- One of the following characters ( ! , @, #, $, *, +, - ).
- No double characters (no consecutive characters can be the same)
- It must not be the same as any of the five previous passwords used.
- Fill out all the information needed in the fields.
- Click the Submit button.
