Join nowThe Print Forms/Send Forms command for emailing pay stubs in Desktop Pro changed. I followed instructions to change Edit -> Preferences -> Send Forms to add my yahoo address, but when I tried to send, I got "Incorrect credentials or Gmail setting" error. I did NOT forget my password, so it has not changed. The Help link takes me to a page to log into Google, but I don't use Gmail, I use Yahoo! What's going on?
Let's make sure you're able to send your pay stubs again, vanepst.
We have a couple of recommended steps to help resolve the error. First, let's toggle the settings in the Preferences window. Here's how:
Second, you will also need to turn on the 2-step verification process. It will generate a random password that you need to enter in QuickBooks every time your asked for password when sending files. It's a recent change that was implemented by Yahoo.
To do that, scroll down to the If you are using Yahoo! Mail section of this Help article: QuickBooks Will Not Accept My Web Mail Password.

Hi there, vanepst.
Thanks for getting back to us. Allow me to provide some additional information about email pay stub password in QuickBooks.
I appreciate you for following the steps provided by my colleague @JenoP. In addition, you can send an email in QuickBooks using QuickBooks Email if you have an active subscription for any company file such as, QuickBooks Connect, Intuit Data Protect, QuickBooks Attached Documents, Intuit Commissions Manager, and QuickBooks Time and Billing Manager.
To check if you have valid subscription, here's how:
Once you've received a pop-up window that we can't grant you access to QuickBooks Email this means that you don't have a valid subscription.
For the meantime, you can set your yahoo address so you can send pay stub to your employees. You can check this article for the detailed steps: Email pay stubs from QuickBooks Desktop.
If you need further assistance with the steps, I encourage you to contact our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They have additional tools to pull up your account in a secure environment and do a remote session.

That should do it! Please know that I'm just a post away if you have any other concerns about email pay stub. I'm always here to help.
How do I get the passwords?
Thanks for looping in this thread, marypert.
I'd be happy to help you get the password for an emailed pay stub in QuickBooks Desktop.
If you email pay stubs via the QuickBooks Desktop, they are delivered as password-protected PDF attachments to increase the security of the employee's information.
The passwords are composed of the following:
The password is automatically generated and can't be removed. The only way the password can be altered is if the employee's name and social security number changes within QuickBooks Desktop before the check is created for the employee.

I'd love to help if you have additional questions about emailing pay stubs and passwords in QuickBooks Desktop. Have a good one.
I had also been having this problem and had taken to saving the documents (pay stubs in this case) as pdfs and then emailing them directly from my email account. The solutions mentioned here are very cumbersome but worked after much frustration. Quickbooks wants me to upgrade prior to May 31st but I'm dreading it with all the issues I've encountered the last couple of months.
