You need to create a check to make the payments to the attorney general, clay17.
You'll need to pay the agencies or creditors directly as instructed in the garnishment order or tax levy. QuickBooks Online doesn't create checks to pay non-tax liabilities such as Child Support.
Before doing so, you'll want to ensure that your payroll accounting preferences are set up correctly for the accounts where the transactions will be posted. If you're unsure what accounts to use, I'd recommend consulting with your accountant as this may affect your reports such as your Profit and Loss or Balance Sheet.
To create a check, follow the steps below:
- Click on the + New button, then Check.

- Choose the vendor from the Payee dropdown and the account you use for liability payments from the Bank Account dropdown.
- Key in the Payment date and Check no..
- Select the account the child support deduction goes into in the CATEGORY dropdown, then enter the exact amount.
- Provide the needed information from the remaining fields and click on Save.
