Entering prior payroll from Desktop to Online is my specialty, so let me lend you a hand in taking care of this.
Generally, there are 4 stages that we need to complete before we can enter the 2018 payroll. However, if you already signed up and set up the payroll service, then we only need to take care of the other stages. If you haven't, then I'd recommend that you sign up first before following these steps:
To enter the prior payroll
Click Workers in the left navigation menu, then Add an employee.
Enter employee's Personal and Pay information.
Select Enter 2018 prior pay details in the employee's profile.
Follow the on-screen instructions and make sure to enter the appropriate details.
Repeat these steps and keep adding employees and their information as needed.
Add and confirm the Business, Federal tax, and State tax information in the Taxsetup.
Select Add pay date to enter company totals for the current quarter.
Enter company payroll totals by pay date.
- If necessary, add more pay dates, then click Continue.
Enter Paycheck history quarterly detail, then select Continue.
I started payroll services on September, 2018 but didn't enter the paychecks to the employees that were issued prior to the date of payroll services. I am running the W-2s but I need to enter the paychecks from the prior period so they are correct. I am using Quickbooks Pro 2018. How can i enter the prior paychecks?
