Good day djbullock62,

Let me help you fix the error that you encountered while trying to send your Federal 941 liabilities payment.

Intuit has recently updated its connections used in order to provide greater security and stability.

Here are the new requirement that need to be met for successful transmission:

  • Make sure that you have the latest version of QuickBooks Desktop.
  • You must be the Administrator of the account.
  • The .Net version will need to be 4.5.2 or greater.
  • If you are using Internet explorer as a browser, you must be using Internet Explorer 11.
  • The operating system needs to be Windows 7 or later.

If you are not sure which of the following requirements need to be met you can run the TLS 1.2 Readiness tool. This will update your system to automatically meet the requirements mentioned above.

Let me know if there's anything that I can help with your payroll account. I am always here to help. Have a great rest of your day.

I am having the same error, I ran the TLS tool, and it shows everything successful, however I cannot process the 941 payment through Quickbooks when I could previously. I am on the most recent payroll update.

Thanks for trying the recommended steps above, besscamp and CattailsBooks.

Since you're still getting error, let's try repairing QuickBooks. This can help us resolve any performance issues you encounter while using the software.

I'll show you how:

  1. Restart your computer to close unnecessary programs interfering with QuickBooks.
  2. Make sure to create a backup copy of your file.
  3. Select Start, then Control Panel.
  4. Choose Programs and Features. Then, select Uninstall a program.
  5. Hit QuickBooks in the list of programs and hit Uninstall/Change.
  6. Select Continue and Next.
  7. Click Repair and Next.
  8. Choose Finish, then restart your computer if prompted.
  9. Lastly, update QuickBooks  and download the latest payroll tax table when you open QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, I suggest reinstalling QuickBooks for Windows using clean install. This process replaces the QuickBooks system files on your computer. Thus, it fixes program-related issues or errors.

Once done, please e-pay the 941 taxes again.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'm right here to help anytime. I look forward to hearing about your success.
