Federal Forms 940 and 941 stuck at "submitted to Intuit" status for a week

Hello,

I have submitted the 2018 940 and 941 federal forms through QB desktop payroll online to be filed on Jan 1, 2019. The status has been stuck at "submitted to Intuit - sent to Intuit for processing" for the last week. Should I resubmit the files? I've been successfully filing using QB payroll since 2012, so this is not a problem with my setup or my data, and the W2/W3 I filed on the same day went through to the agency successfully, as well.

Federal Forms 940 and 941 stuck at "submitted to Intuit" status for a week

This is normal.  When the IRS updates Intuit with a new status and then Intuit updates it's servers, then the status will update.

 

Note the W-2 status will probably remain in a different incomplete status for months, as the SSA is very slow in updating the status.

I have the same problem.

 

 

940/941 are still in "submitted to Intuit" status, whereas W2 is in "Agency accepted" status.

They are filed on the same time.

 

Not sure if it is related to FIRE system outage.

It can be a possible latency. Nonetheless, the IRS will base on the submitted date, not on the received date.

 

You can check on your email if you have received the notification that it was submitted successfully. 

 

You can also reach out to our payroll support to check the status. Here's how to contact us:

  1. Open a browser, and navigate to: https://payroll.intuit.com/support/contact/?infosrc=qs&service=16.
  2. Choose Payroll.
  3. Click View Contact Info.

Federal Forms 940 and 941 stuck at "submitted to Intuit" status for a week

Government shut down appears to be the reason.  After my 4th call to payroll support, I finally got someone to send me an email confirming this.  Prior to that, I did not have confidence that agents were knowledgeably understanding my question.  I heard a lot of clicking on keyboards and then I would be asked the same question I just explained prior.  I've decided to wait now that I have the email.  Not feeling so nervous.

I just sent in my SS forms and got a response at lightning speed.  It appears that govt shut down is the reason the Fed forms appear stuck.  After my 4th call to payroll support, I finally got someone to send me an email confirming this.  Prior to that, I did not have confidence that agents were knowledgeably understanding my question.  I heard a lot of clicking on keyboards and then I would be asked the same question I just explained prior.  I've decided to wait now that I have the email.  Not feeling so nervous.
