Buy nowI started QB to do my Desktop Payroll this morning and it said there was a new update to QB Desktop. I allowed it to update and now my payroll data has reverted back to 2017. No current data available at all. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution?
I appreciate you bringing this to our attention, TiredofTimecards. Let’s work together to restore your current payroll data and ensure your QuickBooks Desktop Payroll is functioning correctly.
To begin, let's confirm that you're opening the correct and most up-to-date company file. Sometimes QuickBooks may open an older company file or backup by mistake, causing payroll data to appear outdated. To verify and ensure you're using the correct file for QBDT update, check out this article: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
For the latest payroll tax table, refer to this article: Get the latest tax table update in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
If an old backup was opened by mistake or payroll data appears missing, and you have a backup of your current data, restore it.
If the issue persists after verifying the above steps, I recommend contacting our live support team. They have the tools to securely review your account and provide personalized support to resolve this as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your reply. I had already restored the most recent backup, and everything has been working fine since then. I'm not sure why it may have grabbed old data, though?
Thanks for getting back with the Community, TiredofTimecards.
I'm happy to hear you were able to find and restore the backup you were looking for.
If the wrong data was restored when you restored a backup, it's possible you may have used the incorrect backup file. I'd recommend taking note of which folder it's in, that way you know which backup file to use moving forward.
