How can I add NY SDI and NY PFL rates to my payroll? I tried adding it but is showing up as 0% deduction. Tax exemption is not checked off.

NY SDI and NY PFL rates are pre-programmed in QuickBooks Online. These items will be automatically calculated according to your state's established guidelines, Charm.

This means you don't need to manually enter any rates in QBO, provided that the payroll item is properly configured and not marked for exemptions.

Since no deductions for both are calculated NY SDI and NY PF, I suggest reaching out to our live support teams via chat or phone call. They can take a closer look at your account  to investigate and resolve any issues preventing the deductions from being taken out correctly.

Here's how to reach out to them:

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right-hand corner of QBO.
  2. Proceed to the Assistant tab.
  3. Type in "contact support" in the chat box and press Enter.
  4. Select Contact a human, then click Live Chat or Call me back.
  5. Type in a short description of your concern and click Continue.
  6. Choose between Callback or Chat.

Please note that our live support teams are open every Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 9 PM Eastern Time. They're also open on Saturdays, from 9 AM to 6 PM Eastern Time.
