How can I cancel a Payroll entry?

I'm glad you've reached out to us. Allow me to help and guide you on how to cancel a payroll entry in QuickBooks Desktop. 


Are you trying to delete a regular paycheck? If so, you can manually void it by following the steps below:

  1. At the top menu bar, click Employees.
  2. Select the Payroll Center.
  3. Go to the Pay Employees tab.
  4. At the bottom, from the Other Activities list, click Edit/Void Paycheck.
  5. Enter a date range in the Show paychecks from and through fields, and click in the display area to show the checks.
  6. Click to select the check you want to void.
  7. Click the Void button.
  8. Follow the instructions in the message that appears.
  9. Click the Done button to close the Edit/Void Paychecks window.
