Simply need to generate a report containing
Employee Name : James
06/01/2019 daily checkins/checkouts
06/02/2019 daily checkins/checkouts
between two calendar dates for a given employee or for the whole organization ( we have 10 employees )
Welcome to the Community, @sm13.
Let me help check the history of the employee's time activities.
1. Choose Reports.
2. Click Payroll Summary.
I've added screenshot for your reference:
Once done, the hours appear as a link. Then, if the employers click the hours link, the employees timesheet appears for that particular pay period.
Please read to this article for your reference about running payroll: Time Tracking.

Hi Shally :
Appreciate your response. Very helpful.
But I need to determine hours worked for a calendar period. Not for a pay period.
We declare monthly bonus on the basis of hours worked in the month.
(I agree, monthly hours be calculated by copying data from the hours worked per pay period but that is cumbersome).
Is there a direct way?
Give it two calendar dates and it produces a report for checkin/checkouts for that period.
Even if checkin/checkouts are not available, aggregate hours would be helpful.
Thanks again for your response.
Thanks for getting back to us @sm13,
Let me guide you how you can setup the total hours worked of specific date of your employee's.
To determine total hours worked for a calendar period, you'll need to change the date period. Let me guide you how:
1. Go to Reports.
2. Select Payroll Summary.
3. Change the date period "From" and "To" section.
4. Click Update Report.
You may find this helpful article about tracking hours worked of your employee's: Time Tracking Setup Flow.

I put 08/01/19 to 08/31/19
Payroll done on 08/02 has July hours. See attached picture
Pay periods overlap months.
I need hours by month, not by pay period.
So this does not answer the question.

Will the historic timesheet link go away after 10/31/2019 when we switch to Tsheets? If so is there a way to download this historical data to a flat file?
The historic timesheet will remain even after the date you've stated. You can go to Paycheck Records to check this out.
There's no option to export this to your Excel. Alternatively, you can take a screenshot of this and paste it to your Excel. Check out this article to get more details about the time tracking.
