How can I direct quickbooks to assign HoneyBook payments to a specific income account?

I have two different companies within my HoneyBook account. I would like payments from each respective company to be assigned to a different income account so that I know how much each company has earned. Is there a way to set this up so it happens automatically? Thank you.

Thanks for posting here, @lindseyannparker,

We want to make sure you're able to get the support you need with Honeybook. While this forum can only assist QuickBooks concerns, I need to have you contact your application's support provider.

They can help you further with the settings on how to assign payments and make it work with QBO. I've found this article about connecting Honeybook with QBO: Integrating your HoneyBook account to QuickBooks Online

Aside from contacting their support, we also have a separate forum called Intuit Developers, where you can find engineers who can help with third-party tools integrations and how to use them. Click this link to our website: Intuit Developers Community.

If you need additional help, feel free to reach out back to me. I'm always here to provide further assistance with anything QuickBooks related. Have a good one!

How can I direct quickbooks to assign HoneyBook payments to a specific income account?

I have read all of the articles HoneyBook has, and I have contacted them asking this same question.  But the only thing they know how to do is specify which checking account the payments go into.  But I want payments from both companies to go into the same checking account, but then I'd like two different income accounts.  That way on my P&L, I can show total income for each area within my company.  I was wondering if there is a way to create a rule so that when payments come in with "Missouri" it assigns to the "Sales - Missouri" income account and when the payments say "Houston," it assigns to the "Sales - Houston" income account.  Thanks for taking a look at this for me.

I appreciate the update that you've shared, @lindseyannparker.

Let me shed some light on how transactions are being imported from HoneyBooks to QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks is dependent on the entries that are transmitted from HoneyBooks. This is based on the setup that you have on the said third-party application.

You can verify with the HoneyBooks support team if being able to set a rule for the payments is possible.

When it comes to your transactions in QuickBooks Online, you can manually change the account of the payment. This way, it will be posted accurately on your P&L report.

To do that:

  1. Go to your register.
  2. Look for the transaction.
  3. Double-click it and click on Edit
  4. Change the account and save it.

Keep me posted on how things turn out. I'll be right here to assist you if you have more questions. Have a good one!
