How can i enter prior payroll

Entering prior payroll ensures accurate year-to-date totals on the pay stubs, Jorja46.


Although in QuickBooks Online, you can only enter prior payroll if you haven't created any paychecks for the employee yet. I'll show you how:

  1. After entering the employee info, select Enter prior pay details.
  2. Fill in the necessary fields.

I'll share the article about setting up a prior payroll for more details. 


If you've created paychecks already, I'd suggest reaching out to our payroll support. They'll help you enter the info in our system. Here's how:

  1. Click Help inside QuickBooks Online.
  2. Select Contact Us
  3. Enter "Set up prior payroll" in the description field, then click Let's talk.
  4. Select either Start messaging or Get a callback.

The chat line is open from Mondays to Saturdays from 4 am to 9 pm PST. Then, then phone support is available from Mondays to Fridays from 6 am to 5:30 pm PST.
