To begin with, QuickBooks Online doesn't allow more than one Simple IRA deduction per employee. However, you can manually override the deduction amount each time you run payroll to include both the 3% and the additional flat amount.
Here's how:
- Go to the Payroll menu and select Employees.
- Click Run Payroll.
- Select the pay period.
- Click Preview payroll.
- Locate the employee and click on their name
- Find the Simple IRA deduction and manually edit the amount to add the flat contribution on top of the calculated 3%
- Once done, click Save.
