How do I change contact name on 1096 Form?

You can easily change the contact name, Lindag4a2. I'll help you with the steps.

Here's how:

1. Click Expenses.
2. Go to the Vendors tab, then click Prepare 1099s.
3. Click Let's get started or Continue your 1099s.
4. Review the information, then click Continue twice.
5. Click Finish preparing 1099s.
6. Click either E-file for me or I'll file for myself. If you select to e-file, it'll route you to enter or change the contact name. If you select the latter, select 1096 on the Select a form type page and print a sample page, then click Yes, looks good!.
7. Click Add contact information, then change the name.

Regarding contact name, which QB says is optional, I am trying to delete contact name from 1096 and QB refuses. I deleted the info in the box but it printed anyway. Then, I changed it and QB still printed the prior name. Where is QB pulling that info from so that I can get rid of it?

The contact name on the 1096 form is based on the master admin of your company file. To change this, you'll need to update the admins' information under the Manage Users section on your account.

Here's how:

1. Go to the Gear icon. 
2. Under Your Company, choose Manage Users. 
3. Click pencil icon beside Edit and update the information.
4. Hit on Save.

Once done, you can proceed in printing your 1096 with correct contact person.
