How do I enter handwritten payroll checks into my Online QB?

We can run payroll in QuickBooks Online (QBO) via paper check, @jandbm.

 

To do this, you'll need to change the Pay method to Paper check when processing payroll. Let me guide you through the process using the classic experience of the application:

 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and select Employees.
  2. Click the Run payroll button.
  3. Select a pay schedule for this payroll from the Run payroll window and click Continue.
  4. Choose an employee for whom you're running this payroll.
  5. From the Pay method column, choose Paper check from the dropdown.
  6. Click the ellipsis icon under the Action column and choose Edit paycheck to verify paycheck information.
  7. Hit Save.
  8. Click Preview payroll, then Submit payroll.

 

If you're currently in the New QuickBooks Online Experience, you can follow these steps:

 

  1. Navigate to the sidebar menu and select My Apps.
  2. Then, choose Payroll and select Employees.
  3. Continue the process by following Steps 2 through 8 outlined above.
