We can run payroll in QuickBooks Online (QBO) via paper check, @jandbm.
To do this, you'll need to change the Pay method to Paper check when processing payroll. Let me guide you through the process using the classic experience of the application:
- Go to the Payroll menu and select Employees.
- Click the Run payroll button.

- Select a pay schedule for this payroll from the Run payroll window and click Continue.
- Choose an employee for whom you're running this payroll.
- From the Pay method column, choose Paper check from the dropdown.

- Click the ellipsis icon under the Action column and choose Edit paycheck to verify paycheck information.
- Hit Save.
- Click Preview payroll, then Submit payroll.
If you're currently in the New QuickBooks Online Experience, you can follow these steps:
- Navigate to the sidebar menu and select My Apps.
- Then, choose Payroll and select Employees.
- Continue the process by following Steps 2 through 8 outlined above.
