How do I enter New employee info and do the payroll?

We have a new person, I need your help to put his information in. I also cant do the payroll. Please help!

How do I enter New employee info and do the payroll?

Hello there, @tatschwellservic.

 

Thanks for visiting the Community for support. I'd be glad to assist you with adding employee information and process payroll.

 

You can add your employee by going to the Payroll menu and enter the necessary details from there. Before doing so, make sure to get their information, so you can easily add them to the payroll system. Follow the steps below:

 

  1. Open QuickBooks Online and go to Payroll.Capture.PNG
  2. Select Employees, then Add an employee.
  3. Add your employee's info, including their email address. This will automatically invite your employee to see their pay stubs and W-2s.
  4. If you want your new employee to add their info, select the Ask this employee to enter their personal, tax, and banking info with QuickBooks Workforce checkbox.
  5. Note: The employee self-setup option is only available to new employees added after the initial payroll setup process is fully completed and you've run your first payroll.
  6. Select Done.

 

Once done, you can now run payroll for the new employee. 

 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then select Run payroll.
  2. Choose a pay schedule, then Continue.
  3. Choose the employees you want to pay.
  4. Verify if you have selected the correct bank account, pay period, and pay date. You can also modify them as needed.
  5. Change employee's payment method as needed.
  6. Enter hours worked if applicable. 
  7. Select Preview Payroll.
  8. To edit or preview a specific check, select the Edit ✏️ icon next to the check's net pay, then select OK when done.
  9. When you're ready, select Submit payroll.
  10. You're all set! To print paychecks, select Print paychecks, then Finish payroll.

However, if the issue persists about doing the payroll, I'd suggest accessing your QBO account on a private browser. If you don't encounter the same thing, go back to the original browser and clear the cache. Also, you can use another supported browser. They use a different cache.
