I’m happy to add some information about quarterly tax filing to QuickBooks Self-Employed, @nadinecdickmann-.
Filing forms 941 and 1120ES are available in QuickBooks Online and Desktop. That being said, you can manually file them outside QuickBooks Self-Employed. As a sole proprietor, you are responsible for paying estimated quarterly payments. This is to avoid penalties at the end of the year.
To determine how much you should pay each quarter, you’ll want to calculate your owed quarterly tax amounts. For individuals, figure out your estimated quarterly tax payments using Form 1040-ES.
Also, you can simplify your payment process by linking your bank account to EFTPS.gov. Sign up for an Electronic Federal Tax Payment System account:
- Learn about basic enrollment requirements.
- Go to the EFTPS website.
- Choose Enroll.
- Follow the steps to enroll as an individual.
The IRS will send your PIN and enrollment number by US mail. You need this info to sign in and make payments.
