How do I get rid of old, unbilled time from weekly timesheets?

We use weekly time sheets to run payroll for our employees.  We have years of old, unbilled time that was never applied to any invoice, but may have been used on an employees paycheck.  Is there a way to take all this old, unbilled time off the books without having it affect old paychecks? Thank You.

How do I get rid of old, unbilled time from weekly timesheets?

Hi there, @rachel_wheat.

I'll help you accomplish your task in QuickBooks.

You can open each unbilled time entry and uncheck the Billable (/hr) box so it won't show up once open an invoice. Doing this won't affect your old paychecks.

If you wish to continue deleting the entries, all have to do is to open their window and delete them from there. This won't affect your payroll records since you've already made the paychecks.

To uncheck the billable box or delete the entry, simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to Reports and run the Unbilled Charges report.
  2. Look for your old time entries and click it to open.
  3. Once you open its window, you can either uncheck the Billable (/hr) box or click Delete to remove the entry.
  4. Repeat these steps for the rest of the entries.

Additionally, you can run several payroll reports in QuickBooks. This way, you can get a closer look at your business's finances and view useful information about your business and employees.

That should do it. Let me know if you have further questions during this process. Take care and have a great day ahead!
