How do I pay staff the correct date which was last week? It is showing for this week?

You can't modify the pay period once the paycheck is created, @couturegreek. However, you have two options to correct it, and I'll outline those for you below.

Beforehand, please know that in QuickBooks Online (QBO), incorrect pay periods on paychecks can result from an inaccurate payroll schedule, running unscheduled payrolls, or inputting wrong dates during paycheck creation.

The first option is to delete and recreate the paycheck if the direct deposit has been created but not yet processed.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and click Employees.
  2. Select the Paycheck list.
  3. Choose the paycheck you need to delete, then select Delete.
  4. Click Yes to save changes.

You can refer to these articles for more details on deleting and recreating payroll in QBO:

The second one is contacting our QuickBooks Payroll live support team if the paycheck is a direct deposit is already processed or a paper check. They have the tools to help you change the pay period dates.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. From the Search tab, select any article.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Pick a topic or enter your concern, then select Continue.
  5. Choose Chat with us or Have us call you.
