HOw do i set up a salaried employee with an hourly rate for a different responsibility

Setting up an hourly rate for a salaried employee is my specialty, pcalkins321. I'll gladly show you how.

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and then select Employees.
  2. If the employee is already added, click their name. Otherwise, choose Add an employee.
  3. In the How much do you pay section, enter the employee's hourly rate.
  4. Set the default hours and days per week in the next fields.
  5. Add the other necessary details.
  6. Once finished, click on Done.

When you run payroll, you'll see a message at the top. This lets you know QuickBooks used the default hours.

For more details, please see this article: Pay an Employee Different Hourly Rates.
