I’m happy to guide you on how to suspend an auto payment of payroll taxes. You may delete a tax and here’s how:

 

Intuit Online Payroll

  1. Go to Taxes & Forms. Then pick Pay Taxes
  2. Choose Approve.
  3. On the Approve Payment page, find the payment. In the Delete column, select X.
  4. Push Yes to confirm.

 

QuickBooks Online Payroll

  1. Locate Taxes and then select Payroll tax.
  2. Find View tax payments you have made under Taxes.
  3. Change the name of the tax payment and the date range if necessary.
  4. From the drop-down, hit Delete.
  5. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

I have overpaid payroll taxes because I didn't realize QB was going to pay it.  How can I unenroll in the electronic services for QB payroll online until I get it straightened out?

Hello there, @Michelle E.

 

Let me guide you on how to turn off the electronic services in your QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Payroll Settings.
  3. Select E-file and e-pay.
  4. Click on Manually with paper coupons.
  5. Select Next.

For you to re-enroll in electronic services, you need to file an authorization form. I'll show you how:

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. Choose E-file and e-pay.
  3. Click Next to proceed with the e-service interview.
  4. E-sign the authorization form.
