How do I unsubscribe from QB online?

I'll walk you through with unsubscribing from QuickBooks Online, Accounting213.


Just follow these steps:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Go to the Billing & Subscription tab.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, click Cancel subscription.
  5. Follow the steps on how to cancel the account. 

The master admin will receive an email confirming the cancellation.


After canceling, we hold your data up to one year. This means, you can reactivate the account and pick it up if you decide to come back. I'll add this article so you'll know what happens to your QuickBooks Online data after you cancel it.

Thank you Kristine! But I followed that very procedure and when I click on the link "Cancel Subscription" only a blank screen comes up...the link is dead...or what to leads to doesn't do anything.

Let's perform some steps so you can successfully cancel your subscription, @accounting213


It could be the browser is full of frequently-accessed pages which can cause display issues on the websites, like QBO. This might be the reason why you're seeing a blank screen when you click the Cancel subscription link. 


To help fix this, you'll have to log in to your QBO account via a private browser. This helps isolate the issue since it doesn't store data in the cache. Please follow the keyboard shortcuts: 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N


Once logged in, cancel the subscription again. If it works, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache. This helps the program to function efficiently. If private browsing doesn't work, you can also use other supported browsers
