We recently switched from QuickBooks Professional Services version to this web based version. We had all the info in the old system at the time of the conversion but I cant see how to find it now or if it transferred over since we said we aren't using their payroll
It's great to have you here in the Community, @mthron.
The employee lists and information in QuickBooks Professional Services will be transferred to the web version even if you're not using the payroll service. It’s my pleasure to walk you through where you can see the employee details in QuickBooks Online.
Since you recently switched versions, I suggest checking this article for guidance with what is imported and not from QuickBooks Desktop to QBO: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
You can also refer to the video tutorials in the link to help you navigate through QBO: What Are QuickBooks Apps?
If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to comment below. Have a great day!
Thanks for keeping us updated with the results, mthron.
The error message you're getting can often be a cause of some cache-related issues. We can perform some basic browser troubleshooting steps to fix errors on reports.
Let's use a private browser when logging in to QuickBooks. This will help us isolate if the issue is specific to the browser.
If this fix the error, we can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache storage of your browser to prevent unexpected behavior in the product. Otherwise, using other supported browser can be a good alternative too.
Keep in touch if there's anything I can help you with. I'm always around to provide further assistance.
I can see that it is very important for you to get your employees' information, especially their addresses and SSNs. I understand that you also don't have a payroll service. However, we still can get these details, and I'll guide you through the process.
The employee's list has very limited information, so we'll use the Employee Contact List report to see the details you need. However, the SSNs by default, are partially hidden to protect your employees, and only the last four digits are visible on your end even on that report. You can get their SSNs on the W4 form they gave you when you hired them.
If there are any other payroll data you need, you can always visit us back here. We'll be happy to lend you a hand.
We need someone to review our account and help us get this set-up and working properly. It is a bad system and I would have hoped you would have created a work around by now. We need to see our employees info (address, filing status, etc) ASAP
Hello there, mthron,
Viewing your employees' personal details helps you get the information you need for your business. Going to the Employees tab from the Workers menu and running the Employee Details and Employee Contact List reports are the recommended solutions to help complete your task. Since the same issue persists, you'll need the assistance of our Customer Support Team. From there, they can securely review your account and help recover the missing employees' data.
There are several payroll reports you can run to help you easily manage your payroll and employees. For more details, check out this website: Payroll Reports Overview. This link also provides you steps on how to mark the reports as favorite, customize, and print them.
You can count me in if there's anything else you need. Take care always, mthron.
