How does QBO get away with withholding funds from your account without your authorization! This is totally ridiculous!!!

Taxes that are not due until July 31, 2025 and February 2, 2026 were withheld from my account. Now, I being told they can't refund because the funds were already sent to the agencies... How can that be when the reports are not due!

@janet102  While you are allowed to prepay taxes, they probably lied to you; QB now withdraws funds after each payroll and stores it in their account until it is time to pay the payroll taxes.

Unfortunately, this decision was added to their contracts related to auto-tax payment some months ago.

It's dumb, but it's increasingly becoming the industry standard practice, apparently.

I don't know, I handle my own payroll tax scheduling; wouldn't trust them to do it correctly anyway.

The filing of your Q2 941 isn't due until July 31, but that's different from when you must make deposits.  You're required to make either monthly or semi-weekly deposits, depending on your total tax liability.  The filing of your annual 940 isn't due until 2026, but that's also different from when you are required to make deposits depending on your tax liability.
