How to get my w2 if I canceled payrolls

Hi Lesya,

When you cancel your payroll account, you’ll be prompted to select from several year-end filing options. It’s up to you to determine how payroll taxes will be managed moving forward. Which option did you select?

  • Cancel now: No new payments or filings.
  • Cancel later (at the end of the quarter): Taxes are paid and filed through the current quarter only.
  • Cancel later (at the end of the year): Taxes are paid and filed through the rest of the year.

If you choose Cancel now, there will be no new payments or filings processed by Intuit, and you'll be responsible for handling everything, including W-2 filing.

If you select Cancel later (at the end of the quarter) or Cancel later (at the end of the year), Intuit will generate and file your W-2s as part of the year-end filing process. The W-2s will be available in the Filings tab under the Payroll Tax Center.

To check your W-2s, please follow these steps:

  1. In the left menu, choose All apps.
  2. Select Payroll, then Payroll taxes.
  3. Go to the Filings tab and look for the listed W-2s.

Additionally, if you have Auto Pay & File enabled, tax payments and filings will occur automatically based on your selections.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
