how to have qb back out a tax filing

Hi there, Alica.

Are you attempting to correct your tax filing and need to make adjustments? If your 1099 tax forms have already been e-filed and accepted by the IRS, you can easily make corrections. Simply go to the 1099 filing tab, locate the form in questions, and select the Correct option.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Payroll icon and select 1099s.
  2. Look for the a dropdown next to the accepted form and select Correct

Please know that the button may not appear immediately after filing. The IRS must accept it first before you can do the correction.

On the other hand, for Payroll tax forms amendment, you can follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Go to the Payroll icon and select Payroll taxes.
  2. Click Filings and then choose Archive.
  3. Look for the amend or correction option.

For more information when requesting an amendment, check out this article for details: Request an amendment for Payroll.

You can explore QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP) as an ideal solution for managing payroll taxes hassle-free, saving time, and giving businesses confidence in knowing taxes are done accurately every time.

If you have any other questions and concerns when doing corrections for your tax forms, feel free to let us know. We're always right here to help you.
