When you switch from QBDT to QBO, the process brings some payroll details. You can use the payroll reports in QuickBooks Desktop to set up your payroll in QuickBooks Online. This may take a while depending on your number of employees. I'll guide you how:
In QuickBooks Desktop, run a Payroll Summary report. You need this report to set up your employees in QuickBooks Online. Print it or save it as a PDF for your records.
Go to the Workers or Payroll menu, then select Employees.
Select Get Started with Payroll to begin the setup process.
Enter in the company, employee, and tax information.
Once completed, you will see a Run payroll button on your Employees screen.
Once done, you'll just have to enter your employees' hours and we'll do the calculation for you.
