I am entering a new employee. When I try to enter their SSN and tax information there is no "done" button to click. How do I save the info without a done button?

Let's get your employees setup successfully in QuickBooks Online, @patricia-newkirk,

First, make sure you're browser is maximized to show the clickable option in the program. Try to toggle the screen by minimizing and maximizing it again.

If you're still unable to see the Done button, try opening your account in a private browser. Unexpected issues in the QuickBooks Online mostly are affected by the large data in the cache. Private browsing will not save your browsing history making it a good place to check for cache issues.

Use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

Clearing the cache can also help resolve browser issues in QBO.

I want to ensure this is resolved. Kindly post an update on how things go after trying out the steps. I'll be right here if you need further help. Have a nice day!

When I enter the Overview section of the Employees tab it says in the To Do List box that I am all caught up.  I didn't update anything, so I am confused...but does this mean that I am good to go?

Thanks for getting back to us, patricia-newkirk.

After following the troubleshooting steps provided by Jen_D, you should now be able to enter the employee details without any issues.

Though the To Do List already says you've caught up with the changes, it doesn't hurt to review the employee details. This is to ensure that you've set up everything without missing the important details.

Once everything looks good, QuickBooks will calculate the taxes with easy when you create paychecks for your employees.

We'll be right here if you need anything else. Have a great day!
