I can help you set up your payroll without an active subscription in QuickBooks. You can manually enter the payroll transaction by creating journal entries. However, we need to make sure you're using accountants view. Here's how:
Go to Gear icon, then select Account and Setting.
Select Advance, then under the User view section, click the pencil icon.
Select Accountant view from drop-down arrow.
Hit Save to confirm the changes.
To create journal entry Here's how:
Click the + New icon .
Select Journal Entry.
Under the Journal date, enter the paycheck date.
If you want to track the paycheck number, enter it in the Journal no. field.
