I am paying my Q1 taxes but it's not letting me also pay Q2. Are they both in the Q1 taxes?

Good afternoon, @mikevermilyer.

At this time, there's an ongoing issue about the incorrect amount when paying the Q1 taxes, and it reflects the Q2 amount instead. Rest assured, the Engineering Team is working diligently to have a permanent fix to this behavior.

As a workaround, you can pay your Q2 taxes directly at eftps.gov then manually enter the transaction into QuickBooks Self Employed if you don't have the bank connected to your account. If you do have it connected, you categorize it as "estimated taxes" when the transaction gets imported.

In the meantime, I recommend contacting the QuickBooks Self Employed Support Team to be added to the list of affected users. By doing this, you'll get email updates on this issue and be notified of when it gets resolved. Please provide the INV-48048 to the agent as your reference. Here's how to get in touch:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Select Contact Us
  3. Enter Default amount to pay Q1 taxes reflects Q2 amount in the Ask a question (or tell us what's wrong) box.
  4. Hit Continue
  5. Choose a way to connect with a live support agent.

You'll hear from an agent shortly. Furthermore, here's an article that you may find useful: Pay federal estimated quarterly taxes.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Community or me. You can always check back on this thread for updates. Have a great rest of your day!
