I cancelled my enhanced payroll intending to do payroll manually. How do I set this up?

I have QB Pro Plus 2021 and I cancelled my Enhanced Payroll (too expensive). How can I set up my payroll to process it manually?

Welcome to the Community. Let me help you run a payroll manually.

 

Before you can manually run payroll, you need to update your version of QuickBooks. Once done, you need to enable payroll inside your QuickBooks settings. Let me show you how:

  1. Select Preferences from the Edit dropdown menu.
  2. Select Payroll & Employees, then go to the Company Preferences tab.
  3. In the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Features section, select the Full payroll and the Manual Payroll checkboxes.
  4. Select Next in the Get payday peace of mind window.
  5. Select then Activate in the confirmation screen.
  6. Select OK to apply the changes.
  7. Select OK to exit out.

There you go! You should be able to run your payroll manually.

Let me help cancel your QuickBooks subscription, I cannot print w-2.

 

I want to make the process as easy as possible for you. Let's start by logging in to your Intuit account and cancel the subscription from there. 

 

Here are the steps you can follow:

 

  1. Log into the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs), your Intuit account.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. From the Products & Services area, find your subscription or service, then click Details
  4. Verify this is the product or service you no longer need, then select Cancel Service under the active status.
  5. Please let us know why you are leaving so we can improve our services. After providing any details (optional), click Continue to cancel.
  6. Confirm your cancelation by selecting Cancel Now.
  7. You will see a confirmation message as well as receive an email.

I cancelled my enhanced payroll intending to do payroll manually. How do I set this up?

I use QB Desktop Pro 2019 and cancelled my basic payroll subscription last month.  I want to revert to processing payroll manually.  When I navigate to the company preferences for Payroll & Employees, the checkbox for Manual Payroll is greyed out.  I ran a QuickBooks update but there were no updates.  How can i revert to manual payroll processing?
